Spring is here but…

I am so happy it’s spring but….

But what?

Sports.

I have a 7 and a 9-year-old who play sports. BOTH play soccer and baseball. In spring this is DEADLY. Why? This is why….today, Parker (7-year-old) has soccer from 4-5 and then he has baseball 5:45-6:45. Zach has a baseball game at 5:45. Okay, I am one person. I can’t physically be at two baseball fields at the same time. Especially when one is on one side of Livingston and the other one is on the other side. Greg works in the city so I am total single mom during the week. I signed on for it. I get it. Not complaining however one kid always suffers because they both want you at their game. I don’t remember this shit growing up. My mother definitely was not this crazy (my brother and I were also 5 years apart).  I am so not trying to be Tiger mom but I feel like HER (soccer, baseball, piano, hebrew, homework, AH!) My kids do not have time to eat dinner, take a shit or shower.

Speaking of baseball  – Does your kid have to get his bat checked? Well mine does. Last year I took Zach (Parker didn’t need it at the time) to have his bat checked. He passed and life went on. This year all of a sudden the bat that was “approved” last year is not approved this year. WTF?! Perfect. Now this means I need to find a “new” bat because the super amazing bat that worked last year has failed this year. I would just like an explanation. Thank you.

Last thing I want to say about baseball while we are on the topic is the cut off. Who decided the cut off for baseball? It SUCKS. Zach will be 10 in June. Because the cut off is April, he fully gets the shaft. He is on a team with all 3rd graders (who are very nice) but a whole grade is a major difference in elementary school. Zach looks like the big brother to some of these kids. It is so frustrating, Zach is miserable AND it really is a shame because baseball is one of his best sports but the cut off is ruining it.  Can’t they just do it by grade??

Weather

It is still freezing. Hello? it is APRIL!

Allergies

My eyes are the size of watermelons every morning but there are no leaves on any trees, hmmm.

Passover

The only thing I like about passover is matzah pizza. I feel like I am eating a healthier version of pizza even though it is like eating bricks. I love it!

Spring Break

I was so stoked and still am for spring break as we booked a trip with the kids to go see my brother & my sister-in-law in LA. Of course when all is said and done Livingston schools took half of spring break away to make up the snow days (totally understand). But NOW I have to write a note and explain that my kids will be out of school. I think it should just be excused no questions, PERIOD.

By the way, who plans spring break on passover? There is not a shot I am going to LA (my first time I should add) and eating matzah for a week. NO. SHOT.

Easter

I have this weird obsession with peeps. It makes me happy they are a seasonal item and can only be found in the month of April. I have walked down the Easter aisle in Target 100 times this month to fantasize about putting peeps in my mouth but I have not yet bought them. Staying strong. 3 more weeks to go until those suckers are gonzo.

Nail Colors

I always go light when it gets nice out. I found this one new Spring 2014 OPI color that I LOVE : Taupe-less Beachtaupless

Issue is, that’s it. Once I find one color I like I am hooked all summer. I try so hard to pick another color when I get my nails done but I always resort back to same fricking color. Help! Anything else out you love??

Okay enough whining and complaining from me!

Off to two baseball games on two sides of town. PRAY IT RAINS!

xx

#1: it is AWFUL. Baseball, soccer, parkas!!! Now how about when they play hockey in June…it’s 95degrees outside and freezing in the rink so you keep your parka in the car…(and sweats to put over your shorts or under your sundress…) #2: you will miss it, pine for it, and cry for it when they go to college. Yes. You. Will. And you will be jealous when everyone younger than you complains about it. Like I am now.
