New Jersey Hot Houses

As a follower of my blog you probably know I am a little into everything. But one of my true passions is real estate. I am constantly browsing the MLS, the New York Times real estate section and when I am out east I read through all of the Hampton real estate magazines . Even though I am not searching for a house, I am obsessed with new houses on the market. From style to architecture to interior design, I can’t get enough.

I decided to go back to school this past summer to learn even more about real estate. Not so much to get my license but to provide me with a foundation to better understand the intricacies of real estate transactions. My quest for further knowledge led me to an idea of launching a new component of my blog called Hot Houses. The only missing ingredient was the “right” realty partners.

I knew exactly who I wanted to partner with – Elaine Pruzon & Susie Polow.  It was more like, would the desire to work together be mutual?  Susie and I have been friends for years. I remember the day she told me she was teaming up with Elaine Pruzon. I was beyond excited for her. Elaine was named by the Wall Street Journal as the top 100 realtors across the entire country! It couldn’t get much better than Elaine! I knew Susie was in the best hands.

Born and raised in Livingston, NJ, Susie knows the ins and outs of every part of town and the surrounding areas. With her vast knowledge of Essex, Morris and Union Counties and her mega connections,  Susie has this innate ability to match clients with their ideal properties. She just gets it.

Susie Polow Web One of my favorite qualities about Susie is her sincerity and loyalty. I once called her about a property I was considering flipping and she told me I should absolutely NOT buy it for various reasons. Without getting into the details, I am so happy that I listened—she was absolutely right!  Susie would never steer you in the wrong direction.  She is all about making her clients happy and most of all satisfied and has the reputation to prove it.

and Elaine? If you live in or near Essex County, you mostly likely know the name Elaine Pruzon.

Elaine Headshot A Web

To date, Elaine has sold over $1 BILLION in real estate.  She is consistently named the top agent in NJ.  There are many years when she has listed and sold more homes than any other agent in Short Hills.  When I called Susie with my grand idea, I told her that I wanted to partner with her and Elaine to showcase homes in a new way that I have yet to really see done before.  Susie loved the concept and called a meeting for the three of us to meet so that I could present my idea in person.

I had never met Elaine before.  I had heard her name a zillion times but was only aware of her amazing reputation listing and selling homes for over 24 years.  Elaine is highly regarded by her peers in the real estate industry and I think that is one of the most important reasons she is so successful.  One agent described Elaine best when she said “Big agent.  Small ego.”  Honesty and integrity are paramount to her.  Elaine told me that she would never sell a home to someone that she wouldn’t sell to someone in her own family.  She believes that is one of the reasons why she consistently has repeat business and why she gets so many referrals from her clients.

Then I wanted to know a little bit more about how Elaine & Susie work and what makes them so successful.   Elaine said that you have to be very careful when choosing a listing agent or finding an agent to help you buy what is most likely the most expensive asset that one will own.  They shared their experiences on a day to day basis and their own passion for real estate.  I found myself thinking that their business savvy is unparalleled.  Talk about negotiation skills!  They sell and list apartments, townhouses and homes in all price ranges.  Elaine told me that if I was going to write about them, that I needed to understand their work method and how important each and every client is. I loved hearing that.  But what I loved most was when Elaine said something to me and I knew right away that I picked the right real estate agents.  She said and I quote “Susie and I treat everyone like family.  These are not just business transactions that come and go.”  I knew if Elaine and Susie were this honest and loyal with their clients, we would make a great team!  I really do feel that your clients become family.  There are several people I have partnered with over the past two years that are so near and dear to me, they are family.

So what exactly is my grand plan?

Each month Susie, Elaine and I will collaboratively pick at least one home, apartment or townhouse to be featured.  It will be a dedicated post that will walk you through each room of a beautiful home in an extremely detailed format. I will provide floor plans, pictures, pricing and more!  It will like reading a glorified real estate magazine but more fun!  There will also be posts on their insights, market trends and the inside scoop from their perspective.  Featured listings will be in Livingston, Millburn, Short Hills, Summit, Maplewood, South Orange, West Orange, Chatham, Madison, Roseland and the surrounding areas.

I am beyond excited to launch Hot Houses with Elaine & Susie!  Please mention lulu when you call them to discuss any of your real estate needs.  Here is their contact info:
